Nigel McGuinness grew up in a small village in the South East of England, always dreaming of one day being a professional wrestler. He graduated university with a degree in chemistry, but could never forget the dream.
After his first match, on a small show in Ohio, was featured on ABC 20/20, he spent the next decade of his life struggling to fulfill his dream and make it to the big leagues.
At age thirty-four, having finally made it on national television, his career was cut mysteriously short, and he never wrestled again on that stage.
Trying to come to terms with the end of his dream, he embarks on one final tour, traveling across the world, on small shows away from the glare of television lights, searching for a resolution from the friends and family he meets along the way.
The Last of McGuinness is the poignant story of that journey: An insight into the complex world of professional wrestling; into what happened to derail his career, but as much, into the reality of chasing your dreams, why we do it, and how we come to terms with it when they don't work out quite like we'd hoped.
